Stuff I’ve made or done, places I’ve been, places I live, weird pictures. Inspired by something grotesque.

While I work on renovations, Daphne is my constant companion. She sits at my feet if I’m stationary (I work at the desk here), or rests nearby while I work. Tonight, she slept with my hammer. Grainy cell phone picture again… I’m working on unpacking the office stuff, but clearly the floor isn’t done (she’s on it).

Last night I was stripping. Carpet.
I had moved the big desk into the closet, which was finished. I had the ladder out, so I could work on the ceiling and recessed shelves, both not finished. Meateater found his way onto the ladder to supervise my carpet stripping. I had my phone handy, so I snapped his picture.

JUST finished making the curtains for my bed, washing them, hanging them. Grainy cell phone picture, but you get the idea. When I can use the camera, I’ll put up a bigger picture. Only a select few will ever see them live.

Just wanted to show what real sex appeal looks like. This is the kind of sex appeal that sleeps with a cordless circular saw next to her bed. And the kind that has a home filled with dust from sanding for the whole day…

I have been assiduously working to determine just what it was that made me me back in the day. One of the things was that I was less tame, less domesticated, more sparkly. In that vein, I bought myself some metallic gold brocade to make an Asian-inspired vest, but I had enough fabric to make a fun and flashy hat, which I took a picture of here. Look at the hat not the face. This is a not made up kind of day, and I’m rushing out now to see my mom in the hospital (ER visit, surprise, not a good one).

I have been working for a while now to paint my daughter’s bathroom. It has not been a quick or easy process to redo this room, but I have a sample of the paint here. When I get my card reader back from the one who borrowed it, I’ll get better quality pictures. This is from my phone, which isn’t so great.

The youngest and smallest of my dogs ripped out a claw (mostly) last night, and the quick is sticking out and, while it’s not bleeding, it’s horribly painful for her and I don’t know what I should do, or if there’s anything to do other than wait for it to heal.
Here is what it looks like:

I decided to clean the filter on my vacuum cleaner. Now, it must be remembered that I have a lot of pets (four dogs, three cats, a teenager), so there’s a lot of dust and dander and fur. I had no idea that the filter was easily removable and cleanable, so it is the first time I’ve done it. The picture is grainy (it’s better that way). People read tea leaves in a tea cup. Do they read filter debris in a bathtub? I’m going in there with a bottle of Clorox Cleanup and a roll of paper towels as soon as I post this picture, because… well, you can see why. Yikes!! How can ALL that stuff be in one tiny filter? Yes, yes, I know the water disperses it, but… I’ll probably be cleaning it weekly now.
